<idPurp>A metodologia GOD (Groundwater occurrence, Overall lithology of the unsaturated zone, Depth to the water table) desenvolvida pela Organização Mundial de Saúde -OMS (FOSTER; HIRATA; ROCHA, 1988) utiliza informações comumente disponíveis em países em desenvolvimento. Este método tem sido uma das técnicas para a determinação da vulnerabilidade de aquíferos mais utilizadas na América Latina e Caribe nas últimas décadas. Os parâmetros utilizados nesta abordagem metodológica são: 1. G – grau de confinamento da água subterrânea (livre, confinado, semi-confinado); 2. O – ocorrência de estratos de cobertura; 3. D – distância até o lençol freático (espessura da zona vadosa). Resultou no mapa de vulnerabilidade natural com quatro classes: insignificante, baixa, média e alta.</idPurp>
